India Hicks Cuban Cross Tea Towel - Sage

When we bought our home, Hibiscus Hill, On Harbour Island, the master bedroom had wall-to-wall carpet. Taking it up, revealed that the original floor was made of tiles manufactured in Cuba and brought to Nassau in the 1950s to help in the construction of the famous landmark hotel, the British Colonial, at Number 1 Bay Street. Disguised between the Cuban flower seen on these bedroom floor tiles, a faint cross shape can be seen. We’ve lifted this, played with it, added to it to develop a beautiful repeat pattern that is both gentle and distinct.
